Emmanuelle Rose John
is an interdisciplinary installation artist working at Meow Wolf, Inc. In her work, she strives to make microscopic worlds large. Through a wide variety of textiles, mold-making, and sculpture, she creates intricate environments that illuminate organic processes secretly taking place everywhere- the way organisms rot, transform, and are reborn into something else. She draws inspiration from cycles of nature, which also reflect psychological processes of death and renewal. Her style is finely detailed and strange, and her work has been described as a fascinating, unique blend of scary and beautiful.

Microscopic video stills
Date
January 2026-present
Project Type
Video/photography
This is an ongoing personal project. To make the footage, I'm using slides I made with transparent organic and non-organic materials to create mirrored footage by focusing and un-focusing the microscope lens, and shifting the slide bed around.
The result is a magical journey through microscopic worlds. Some of this footage will be featured in Meow Wolf's LA Exhibit, opening in 2026.
